Your Safety & Our Safety Come First
Maintaining a safe environment for our clients, their children, their pets, and our cleaning professionals is one of our Child, Pet, Weather & Cleaning Safety Policy
Safety Comes First
At Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC, the safety of our clients, children, pets, cleaning professionals, and company vehicle is one of our highest priorities.
Professional housecleaning involves cleaning solutions, electrical equipment, extension cords, buckets, vacuums, mops, step ladders, and temporarily wet flooring. Weather and indoor temperatures can also affect whether a cleaning appointment can be performed safely. We ask clients to help us maintain a safe working environment during every scheduled cleaning appointment.
Child Safety
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult while cleaning is in progress.
For their safety, children should not:
- Handle cleaning products, spray bottles, or cleaning tools
- Reach into or play with cleaning buckets
- Play around vacuums, cords, hoses, ladders, or equipment
- Walk or run across freshly cleaned or wet floors
- Follow the cleaner through active work areas
Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their children throughout the cleaning appointment.
Pet Safety
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning is a pet-friendly company, and we love meeting our clients’ furry family members.
During active cleaning, however, pets should be safely contained or supervised.
Whenever possible, pets should be:
- Kept in a separate room that is not currently being cleaned
- Placed in a kennel or crate when appropriate
- Kept in a securely fenced outdoor area when weather permits
- Supervised by their owner when moving throughout the home
This helps prevent pets from slipping on wet floors, coming into contact with cleaning products or equipment, becoming frightened by vacuums, or escaping through an open door.
Halo Loves Meeting Your Pets!
Getting to know our clients’ pets is one of the enjoyable parts of working in residential homes. We enjoy learning their names, personalities, and becoming a familiar face they recognize and trust.
When a pet is friendly and comfortable with Halo, there may even be time for a little attention during a scheduled break.
During active cleaning, however, their safety always comes first.
Wet Floor Safety
Hard-surface floors may be temporarily slippery after cleaning.
Clients should:
- Keep children and pets off wet floors until completely dry
- Walk carefully across recently cleaned surfaces
- Use caution when transitioning between carpet and hard flooring
- Follow any instructions Halo provides regarding drying time
Cleaning Equipment Safety
Cleaning equipment used during an appointment may include:
- Vacuums
- Mops and mop buckets
- Spray bottles
- Cleaning solutions
- Extension cords
- Step ladders
- Cleaning tools and supplies
Clients, children, and pets should remain away from active cleaning equipment and work areas whenever possible.
Inclement Weather Policy
The safety of Halo, our clients, and the company vehicle comes before any scheduled cleaning appointment.
Cleaning appointments may be postponed or rescheduled when weather or road conditions make travel unsafe.
This may include:
- Snow
- Ice or freezing rain
- Dangerous road conditions
- High winds
- Severe storms
- Flooding
- Other hazardous weather conditions
If road or weather conditions create an unreasonable safety risk, the appointment will be rescheduled to the next available appointment once conditions are safe for travel.
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC will not require the owner or company vehicle to travel under conditions that may create an unnecessary risk of an accident, injury, or vehicle damage.
Hot Weather & Indoor Temperature Policy
Residential cleaning is physically demanding work. Vacuuming, mopping, bending, lifting, carrying equipment, and working continuously throughout a home can increase the risk of heat-related illness when indoor temperatures become too high.
For the safety of Halo, appropriate indoor temperatures must be maintained during cleaning appointments.
Temperatures 80-90°F
During hot-weather periods when outdoor temperatures are expected to approach 80-90°F, appointments should be scheduled during the morning whenever possible.
The home’s air-conditioning system must be functioning properly and capable of maintaining a safe and reasonable indoor working temperature.
Windows used for ventilation must also be operational and must not be painted shut or otherwise unable to open when ventilation is necessary.
Temperatures of 90°F or Higher
When temperatures reach or exceed 90°F and the residence cannot maintain a safe indoor working temperature, the cleaning appointment will be rescheduled to the next available appointment.
Working for extended periods in excessive heat can increase the risk of:
- Heat exhaustion
- Heat stroke
- Dehydration
- Dizziness or fainting
- Heat-related illness
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to stop or postpone a cleaning if the indoor temperature becomes unsafe during an appointment.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for:
- Supervising children during cleaning
- Keeping pets safely contained or supervised
- Informing Halo about fearful, anxious, protective, or aggressive pets
- Providing safe access throughout the residence
- Maintaining a safe indoor working temperature
- Providing functioning utilities necessary for the scheduled cleaning
- Advising Halo of known safety concerns before service begins
If conditions arise that place Halo, a client, child, pet, or property at risk, cleaning may be paused, discontinued, or rescheduled until the condition has been corrected.
Our Commitment to Safety
At Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC, providing professional cleaning also means knowing when conditions are not safe enough to continue.
By working together, we can protect everyone in the home while providing the detailed, hygienic cleaning services our clients expect.
