Prioritize Safety First
Halo does not clean homes with unsafe work conditions to protect the health, safety, and well being.
Health and Safety
The health and safety of our clients and the homes I service are the highest priorities of Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC. I’m committed to providing professional cleaning services in a safe, healthy, and respectful working environment.
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to decline, postpone, suspend, or discontinue cleaning services if a property presents unsafe, unsanitary, hazardous, or unhealthy working conditions. Cleaning services cannot safely be performed until unsafe conditions have been corrected or professionally remediated.
Cleaning Services Cannot Be Performed If Any of the Following Conditions Exist
- No running water.
- No electrical service, exposed wiring, faulty electrical systems, overloaded electrical circuits, or other electrical hazards.
- Unsafe structural conditions, including crumbling foundations, unstable porches, collapsing ceilings, compromised walls, unstable railings, or other structural failures.
- Dry rot affecting floors, porches, stairs, decks, or other walking surfaces.
- Painted-shut or inoperable emergency exit windows that create a life-safety hazard.
- Extremely narrow, blocked, cluttered, or unsafe walkways that prevent safe access throughout the residence.
- Confirmed or suspected asbestos or other hazardous building materials.
- Lack of a functioning heating and/or air conditioning system appropriate for the season. Indoor temperatures must remain at a safe and reasonable working level.
- Inadequate lighting that prevents employees from safely performing cleaning tasks.
- Missing or hazardous conditions involving required smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors that create an immediate life-safety risk.
- Carpets, flooring, or furnishings saturated with urine, feces, sewage, or other biohazardous materials.
- Human or animal urine or feces on floors, walls, furniture, or other household surfaces.
- Significant food spoilage, rotting food, extensive mold growth, or biohazard conditions inside refrigerators, freezers, pantries, or other food storage areas.
- Blood, bodily fluids, used needles, medical waste, or other potentially infectious materials.
- Confirmed or suspected hazardous mold contamination requiring professional remediation.
- Active mice, rat, rodent, excessive insect, or wildlife infestations.
- Rodent urine, feces, nesting materials, or significant rodent contamination within the home.
- Fire, smoke, sewage, chemical contamination, gas leaks, carbon monoxide concerns, or other environmental hazards.
- Illegal drug activity, drug manufacturing, hazardous chemicals, explosives, or any unlawful activity occurring on the property.
- Aggressive, loose, or unsecured pets that present a safety risk to employees.
- Any other condition that, in the professional judgment of Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC, presents a risk to the health, safety, or well-being of our employees, clients, or the property.
Rodent Infestation & Biohazard Remediation Requirement
For the health and safety of our employees and clients, Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not perform the initial cleanup of homes with active mice or rat infestations or properties containing significant rodent contamination.
If a home contains active rodents, rodent nests, urine, feces, contaminated insulation, or other rodent-related biohazards, the property must first undergo professional extermination (when applicable) and professional biohazard remediation before standard residential cleaning services can begin.
Rodent urine, droppings, nesting materials, and contaminated debris may contain harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and airborne particles that present significant health risks. Because of these hazards, Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not remove extensive rodent contamination or perform initial rodent biohazard remediation.
Once professional remediation has been completed and the property has been restored to a safe condition, Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC will gladly provide standard residential cleaning services.
Client Safety Responsibilities
To help provide a safe working environment, clients agree to:
- Provide functioning running water, electricity, and adequate lighting throughout the home.
- Maintain a functioning heating and/or air conditioning system appropriate for the season.
- Maintain properly installed and functioning smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in accordance with applicable state and local laws.
- Provide safe and unobstructed access to all areas included in the scheduled cleaning appointment.
- Secure aggressive, anxious, or escape-prone pets before the arrival of our cleaning technicians and keep them secured throughout the appointment unless otherwise agreed.
- Notify Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC before service of any known hazards, broken flooring, structural concerns, plumbing leaks, electrical problems, pest infestations, or other safety issues.
- Secure firearms, weapons, ammunition, prescription medications, controlled substances, and valuable personal property before service begins.
- Ensure children are appropriately supervised while cleaning services are being performed.
- Refrain from smoking, vaping, or using recreational drugs inside the home during the cleaning appointment.
- Maintain indoor temperatures at a safe and comfortable working level throughout the service.
As a courtesy, if a cleaning technician observes a missing, damaged, continuously sounding, or visibly malfunctioning smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector during service, the client will be notified. Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not inspect, test, install, repair, certify, or guarantee the operation of smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors.
Hazardous or High-Risk Cleaning Projects
Properties with severe clutter, hoarding conditions, excessive sanitation concerns, biohazard exposure, heavy contamination, excessive animal waste, or other hazardous environments may be classified as High-Risk Cleaning Projects.
Because these environments require specialized procedures, additional labor, enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE), specialized equipment, increased sanitation protocols, and additional safety precautions, approved High-Risk Cleaning Projects are billed at $100.00 per labor hour, unless otherwise stated in a written estimate or service agreement.
High-risk projects may require:
- A comprehensive pre-service property assessment.
- A customized cleaning plan.
- Written client approval before work begins.
- Multiple cleaning appointments.
- Additional cleaning technicians.
- Respirators, disposable protective suits, gloves, eye protection, shoe covers, and other PPE.
- Specialized cleaning products, disinfectants, and equipment.
- Enhanced waste handling and disposal procedures.
- Coordination with licensed mold remediation, biohazard remediation, pest control, restoration, or other qualified professionals before cleaning services can begin.
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to require remediation by an appropriately licensed contractor before standard residential cleaning services are performed.
Right to Refuse, Postpone, Suspend, or Discontinue Service
Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to refuse, postpone, suspend, or discontinue services at any time if unsafe conditions exist or if previously undisclosed hazards are discovered before or during a scheduled appointment.
If work must be stopped because of unsafe or hazardous conditions, the client may remain responsible for applicable travel charges, labor already performed, specialty equipment used, and any additional costs incurred before services were suspended or discontinued.
Whenever reasonably possible, clients will be informed of the reason services could not be completed and any corrective actions necessary before future appointments may be scheduled.
The safety of our employees, clients, and the homes we service will always take precedence over completing a scheduled cleaning appointment.
