Whether your home is cleaned in sections, by individual projects, or as a complete deep cleaning, preparing your home beforehand allows us to maximize every scheduled hour.

Recommended Client Preparation Checklist

General Home Preparation

☐ Ensure electricity, running water, heating, and air conditioning are operational.

☐ Provide access to the home (key, garage code, lockbox, gate code, or in-person entry).

☐ Disable alarm systems or provide written instructions, if applicable.

☐ Secure all valuables, including cash, jewelry, prescription medications, firearms, important documents, and personal electronics.

☐ Empty trash receptacles or ensure replacement trash bags are available.

☐ Inform your cleaner of any damaged surfaces, fragile items, or areas requiring special care.

Kitchen Preparation

☐ Wash or load dirty dishes into the dishwasher.

☐ Empty and clear the kitchen sink.

☐ Put away groceries and food items.

☐ Remove clutter from countertops, islands, and tables.

☐ Clear floor space for safe access.

☐ Remove garbage and recycling.

Bathroom Preparation

☐ Remove personal hygiene products from countertops.

☐ Store hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners, razors, and grooming tools.

☐ Remove clothing and towels from the floor.

☐ Reduce clutter on vanities, tubs, and shelving.

☐ If excessive toilet buildup is present, please notify us in advance so sufficient cleaning time can be scheduled.

Bedroom Preparation

☐ Pick up clothing, shoes, toys, and miscellaneous items from the floor.

☐ Clear nightstands, dressers, and other horizontal surfaces.

☐ Put away personal belongings.

☐ Remove items from under beds if under-bed cleaning has been requested.

☐ Move beds away from walls only if cleaning behind them has been requested and it is safe to do so.

☐ Pick up clothing, toys, electronics, and personal belongings.

☐ Clear coffee tables, end tables, entertainment centers, and decorative surfaces.

☐ Reduce clutter on bookshelves and display shelves.

☐ Move furniture away from walls if cleaning behind furniture has been requested.

☐ Roll up large rugs if cleaning underneath has been requested.

Entryways & Hallways Preparation

☐ Put away shoes, coats, backpacks, and bags.

☐ Keep walking paths clear for safe access.

☐ Remove clutter from entry tables and hallway surfaces.

Laundry & Utility Areas (If included)

☐ Place dirty towels and linens in one designated location.

☐ Clear washer and dryer surfaces.

☐ Ensure easy access to the laundry area if laundry service has been scheduled.

Safety & Accessibility

For everyone’s safety:

☐ Ensure all work areas are safe and accessible.

☐ Heavy furniture, appliances, mattresses, safes, exercise equipment, and other large items must be moved by the homeowner before service if cleaning behind or underneath is requested.

☐ Walkways should remain free of trip hazards.

☐ Notify us of broken flooring, unstable stairs, loose railings, exposed wiring, plumbing leaks, or any other safety concerns before your appointment.

Areas that are inaccessible or not prepared may be skipped or cleaned only as time allows during the scheduled appointment.

Optional Preparation Services

Preparing your home before your scheduled appointment allows us to provide the most detailed cleaning possible. If you’re unable to prepare your home beforehand, Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC offers optional preparation services to help.

Tidy-Up Service

If you’re too busy or simply don’t have time to prepare your home before your scheduled cleaning, you have the option to add our Tidy-Up Service.

This service is designed to prepare your home before detailed cleaning begins by picking up, organizing, and clearing work areas so our cleaning professionals can focus on cleaning rather than organizing.

Tidy-Up Services may include:

• Picking up clothing, shoes, and personal belongings
• Organizing countertops, tables, and work surfaces
• Putting away household items
• Consolidating toys and miscellaneous items
• Clearing walkways for safe access
• Preparing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas for detailed cleaning

Each Tidy-Up Service is customized to your home’s needs and is estimated by room using Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC’s room-by-room pick-up time guidelines. During your complimentary in-home assessment, we will estimate the amount of preparation time recommended for each room based on the level of clutter and organization needed.

Adding a Tidy-Up Service can:

• Prepare your home for a more efficient cleaning appointment.
• Allow more scheduled time for detailed cleaning and sanitizing.
• Improve overall cleaning quality.
• Reduce interruptions during your appointment.
• Help prevent unfinished areas caused by excessive preparation time.

Tidy-Up Services are billed separately from cleaning services and must be scheduled at least 72 hours before your appointment.

Important Service Notice

Our goal is to maximize every minute of your scheduled appointment while providing the highest quality cleaning possible.

If your home has not been prepared before our arrival and a Tidy-Up Service has not been scheduled, additional time may be required to organize or clear work areas before cleaning can begin. This may:

• Increase the total cost of your service.
• Reduce the number of rooms completed during the scheduled appointment.
• Require additional appointments to complete all requested cleaning tasks.

If preparation needs exceed the scheduled cleaning time, our cleaning professionals will prioritize the areas identified during your in-home assessment. Remaining tasks or rooms may need to be rescheduled for a future appointment.
