Commercial Hazardous & Unsafe Working Conditions Policy

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC is committed to providing professional commercial cleaning while maintaining a safe working environment for our cleaning personnel, clients, employees, tenants, customers, and other individuals on the property.

Commercial cleaning services may be delayed, discontinued, rescheduled, or refused when conditions present an unreasonable health or safety risk.

Unsafe Working Conditions

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC may decline or discontinue cleaning when conditions include:

  • No running water
  • No working electricity
  • Exposed or faulty electrical wiring
  • Electrical hazards
  • Structural instability
  • Unsafe flooring
  • Unstable stairs or railings
  • Dry rot or deteriorated surfaces
  • Falling materials or debris
  • Blocked walkways or emergency exits
  • Unsafe construction areas
  • Active demolition
  • Unsecured construction materials
  • Excessive clutter preventing safe movement
  • Extreme indoor temperatures
  • Broken glass or exposed sharp objects
  • Unsafe ladders or elevated work areas
  • Aggressive or threatening individuals
  • Illegal activity
  • Other conditions that could reasonably cause injury or illness

Construction properties may be evaluated individually when utilities are not yet fully operational.

Hazardous Materials

Standard commercial cleaning does not include the handling, removal, transportation, or remediation of regulated or potentially hazardous materials.

This may include:

  • Asbestos or suspected asbestos
  • Lead contamination
  • Hazardous chemicals
  • Chemical spills
  • Unknown chemical substances
  • Industrial chemicals
  • Pesticides or concentrated chemicals
  • Medical waste
  • Sharps or needles
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Unknown powders or substances
  • Combustible or flammable materials
  • Hazardous construction debris
  • Other materials requiring specialized handling or remediation

A properly licensed or qualified remediation company may be required before cleaning services can begin.

Blood, Bodily Fluids & Biohazards

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC is not a biohazard remediation company.

Standard commercial cleaning does not include cleaning or removal of:

  • Blood
  • Human feces
  • Large amounts of urine
  • Vomit involving potential infectious exposure
  • Bodily fluids
  • Used needles or syringes
  • Medical waste
  • Trauma scenes
  • Crime scenes
  • Unattended death scenes
  • Sewage
  • Other potentially infectious materials

These conditions may require professional biohazard remediation before Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC can safely provide regular cleaning services.

Mold & Mildew

Light surface mildew may be addressed when it can be safely cleaned as part of ordinary cleaning.

Excessive Mold removal CANNOT be 100% guaranteed.

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not provide professional mold remediation.

Properties with:

  • Extensive mold growth
  • Recurring mold
  • Mold caused by water damage
  • Mold inside walls, ceilings, flooring, or HVAC systems
  • Large contaminated areas
  • Suspected hazardous mold conditions

may require evaluation and remediation by a qualified mold professional before cleaning services can proceed.

Pest & Rodent Infestations

Commercial properties with an active or significant infestation may require professional pest control before cleaning.

This may include:

  • Mice
  • Rats
  • Cockroaches
  • Bed bugs
  • Fleas
  • Large spider infestations
  • Other significant insect or pest infestations

Properties with extensive rodent urine, feces, nesting materials, or contamination may require specialized decontamination or remediation before standard commercial cleaning can begin.

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not provide pest extermination services.

Animal Waste & Contamination

Standard commercial cleaning does not include heavily contaminated areas involving:

  • Large amounts of animal urine
  • Animal feces
  • Saturated carpeting
  • Saturated flooring
  • Animal waste embedded into surfaces
  • Animal cages, kennels, or heavily contaminated animal areas

Professional remediation, carpet replacement, flooring replacement, or specialty cleaning may be required depending on the condition.

Sewage, Flooding & Standing Water

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC does not provide sewage remediation or water-damage restoration.

Commercial properties affected by:

  • Sewage backups
  • Contaminated floodwater
  • Standing water
  • Burst pipes with significant water damage
  • Unknown water contamination
  • Saturated building materials

may require professional water restoration or remediation before regular commercial cleaning services can begin.

Construction & Renovation Safety

Post-construction and after-renovation cleaning may be provided when the worksite is reasonably safe for cleaning personnel.

Before cleaning begins, contractors or property representatives should ensure:

  • Major construction work is completed or separated from cleaning areas
  • Electrical hazards are secured
  • Exposed nails and sharp materials are removed
  • Heavy construction debris is removed
  • Walkways are accessible
  • Flooring and stairs are structurally safe
  • Contractors are not performing work that creates an immediate hazard
  • Hazardous construction materials have been properly removed
  • Cleaning areas can be safely accessed

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to postpone cleaning when active construction makes the worksite unsafe.

High-Risk Cleaning & PPE

Certain cleaning conditions may require additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specialized supplies, additional labor, or increased safety precautions.

When Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC determines that a project can be safely completed but requires high-risk cleaning precautions:

High-Risk/PPE Cleaning: $200 Per Hour

This rate applies only to projects that Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC determines can be performed safely within the company’s scope of services.

Payment of the high-risk rate does not mean Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC will perform biohazard, hazardous-material, mold-remediation, sewage-remediation, or other specialized work outside its scope.

Right to Refuse or Stop Service

Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC reserves the right to refuse, postpone, discontinue, or leave a commercial cleaning project if a condition is discovered that could reasonably endanger cleaning personnel or others.

If an undisclosed hazardous or unsafe condition is discovered after arrival:

  • Cleaning may stop immediately.
  • The client or property representative will be notified.
  • Areas that can be safely cleaned may be completed when appropriate.
  • Professional remediation may be required before cleaning resumes.
  • A return appointment may need to be scheduled separately.
  • Additional charges may apply when significant undisclosed conditions affect the scheduled service.

Client & Property Representative Responsibility

Commercial clients, contractors, property managers, and authorized representatives are responsible for disclosing known hazardous or unsafe conditions before the scheduled cleaning appointment.

This includes known:

Mold • Pest Infestations • Rodent Contamination • Sewage • Flooding • Hazardous Chemicals • Biohazards • Structural Damage • Electrical Hazards • Construction Hazards • Other Known Safety Concerns

Failure to disclose significant conditions may result in cleaning services being postponed, discontinued, or refused.

Complimentary Commercial Assessment

Whenever possible, a complimentary commercial assessment allows Halo’s Hygienic Housecleaning, LLC to evaluate the property, cleaning requirements, accessibility, and visible safety concerns before services begin.

Some hazardous conditions may not be visible during an initial walkthrough and may only become apparent once cleaning begins.
